We are thrilled to share that our transition to an independent 501(c)(3) is moving forward! We are officially incorporated in Maryland and have received our IRS letter of determination. This means we are now formally recognized as a federally tax-exempt nonprofit.

What’s Next? With our legal foundation set, we are busy "building the infrastructure" by establishing the governance and financial systems and policies that will power our operation as a fully independent nonprofit. In this capacity we are bringing on expertise from some of our most talented and experienced members to ensure that we are incorporating industry-standard best practices in our operations.

In parallel we are hard at work refining who we are and what guides our work. Soon, we’ll unveil an updated Mission Statement, a clearly articulated Vision, and an updated set of core Values and Goals, all tied together by a fresh new logo.

While our structure is changing, our heart is not. We remain fully committed to the mission that Karlys Kline defined in 2006. We are standing on the shoulders of twenty years of success as we look toward the next twenty.
