Grants Committee

The Grants Committee, comprised of a chair and twelve members, exercises due diligence in evaluating grant applications submitted by organizations that offer programs supporting women and their dependents. The committee prioritizes the proposals and makes recommendations for funding, seeking to be good stewards of the WGC members' money. Grants committee members must attend three meetings (usually held in January, March and April), as well as the annual Tea at which the grants are awarded. Program Committee

The Program Committee carries out the logistics associated with our quarterly events, including coordination with the event venue, setup/teardown for the event, and development of the agenda/program for each event.  Send email to the committee chair at program@frederickwgc.org​ to help out with Circle Programs.

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee is responsible for reaching both the Circle membership as well as interested non-members and external entities via social media, print materials, website, enewsletters, and press releases.  Members with skills in graphic design, social media marketing, website development, photography and writing are encouraged to volunteer. Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee assists with community events and outreach on behalf of the Circle. The committee evaluates new initiatives and events to engage the current Circle membership and educate the community about the Circle mission and accomplishments. Proposed external fundraisers are evaluated and approved. The Outreach Committee assists with the largest external fundraiser,  the Frederick Women's Distance Festival, including serving on the planning committee, recruitment for the Circle participant and volunteer teams, and staffing of a Circle table.  Contact the Outreach Committee chair at outreach@frederickwgc.org to volunteer with outreach on behalf of the Circle.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is responsible for recruitment, orientation and recognition of new members, such that the Circle continues to grow and thrive.  Nurturing relationships and follow-through are the critical components for committee members. Formal committee meeting requirements are minimal, although contact with potential members may include meeting over coffee or lunch.
