Advocates for Homeless Families
Welcome to Shiara Jackson, the new Executive Director.
"Shiara envisions growing Advocates for Homeless Families, making it an even stronger staple within the Frederick community, supporting vulnerable families and the homeless population for years to come while also continuing to build, and strengthen partnerships for the greater good of our vibrant and special community."
We will be hearing from Shiara as the speaker at our next Breakfast Meeting on March 3. You won't want to miss this event as Shiara shares her vision and stories of the challenges faced by the women served by this organization.

Mission of Mercy
On October 22, Mission of Mercy posted:
"Many patients at Mission of Mercy are uninsured or under-insured, struggling with high deductibles and medication costs. Our funding comes from individuals, corporations, foundations, and community support. Thanks to MoM donors and volunteers, we can provide free health and dental care, including prescription medications!
Here's what your donations can do:
Provide an extraction and relief to a young mother who has been in pain and in desperate need of dental care so she is able to continue caring for her child.
Provide insulin or diabetic medication to a middle-aged working woman, who otherwise could not afford the doctor visits and needed maintenance medications."
SHIP/Second Chances Garage
On November 21, Second Chances Garage posted a video of a car being delivered to young woman in the SHIP program. She was clearly thrilled with her vehicle, enabling her to get to work more reliably.
"For the past 8 months she’s been riding a bike and using Ubers to get everywhere! She’s done such a great job at work that she’s been offered a full-time position."
