On Tuesday, June 3, The Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County celebrated two decades of grant-making with a record-breaking award total of $290,000. As each of the eleven recipients took the stage to accept their awards, we were reminded of the deep, meaningful impact these organizations have on local women. With more than 100 members and guests in attendance, the room was filled with applause for the vital work being done to uplift and empower women in the Frederick community, whether by improving health outcomes, breaking the cycles of generational poverty, helping survivors escape domestic violence, or providing the essential tools for long-term financial and emotional stability.
Looking ahead, the 2027 Grants Committee will begin accepting new members soon. Giving Circle members are highly encouraged to join, stepping into a role that carries out the very heart of our mission. Please contact Emilie Routzahn, our 2026-2028 Grants Chair, at emilie.routzahn@frederickwgc.org.
